Eziory – THE VALITSKY’S INDUSTRIAL TOWN. VALITSKY MICHAEL

Mikhail Mitskevich is the real name and surname of the future count Valitsky. He was born in 1746 in the vicinity of Minsk, in a family of small nobles from Novogrudok district, who bought a small building here. As a child Michael lost his father. According to the tradition of that time, orphaned children were taken by families of wealthy relatives. Michael was taken by his mother's uncle,  Zn. Carver court, whose duties included the cutting of the dishes that are served on the table of the king or magnate, Buchynska, who lived near Mogilev [3].

At the age of 18, M. Valitsky went to Europe, where he became a brilliant master of playing cards and billiards. After 20 years, he came back with a great fortune and acquired the title of count, which was later confirmed by the monarch of Poland. The outstanding adventurer of Europe, who was well known to all Royal courts and aristocratic salons of Paris, Vienna, Warsaw, Vilnius, London and St. Petersburg, returned home and bought our Lake place. Here he created a farm. The roads repaired with stones, sasawa trees, built bridges, road channels of the swamp. Taking into account the experience of Royal manufactories A. Tizengauza in Grodno, count N. Valitsky, will build in Ozery the most profitable manufactories – clothes (1807) and paper (1809). On the latter, produced paper of various grades, including filigree – stamp paper with watermarks. The factory had two steam and paper machines, which was great progress for that time. In addition, M. Valitsky built in Ozery factory of hats. There was a time when all inhabitants of the town flaunted in hats, old residents of the present agricultural town confirmed these data, relying on those that remained in their stories of the ancestors. He invited German experts to build and organize the work in the factory.

On Church street, count Mikhail Valitsky built the Uniate Church of Peter and Paul, about 1770 – 1780. And before that the street was called Ostrynska and pointed out the direction, respectively, in the current G. p. Ostrina. Uniate Church of St. Peter and Paul was situated the cemetery, on the corner of current streets of Pioneer and Krasnopartizansky (Annex 5). In 1843 the Church was repaired at the expense of Cornelia Valitsky and most likely stood until the first World war [6].

Conclusion: Mikhail Valitsky, born Mitskevich, founded clothes and paper factories in the Ozery. He became the founder of the company for the manufacture of hats. Valitsky built the Uniate Church of Peter and Paul. After the death of Michael, Ozery passed into the possession of his heirs, in particular Carnelia and Leapold.
